13-year-old boy confined for home invasion in Maite

A 13-year-old boy was confined for home invasion and theft in Maite.

Preliminary reports suggest that on Friday, March 27 at around 3:50 a.m., officers from the Central Precinct Command responded to a burglary in progress call at the S&S Apartments in Maite.

While en route, additional information indicated that male minors were witnessed trying to open doors to parked cars within the parking lot.

As officers approached Titires St, they noted two male minors running towards Old G.W. Road in Maite.

Officers were able to apprehend one of the minors, where he was later transported to Central Precinct Command for processing and interview.

The 13-year-old boy was later taken into custody by Juvenile investigators for the following offenses:

Home Invasion
Theft of Property
Curfew Violation and
Eluding a Police Officer

The boy was later confined to the Department of Youth Affairs.

The case remains open as Juvenile investigators work at locating the second suspect
