13th Anniversary of 9/11 to Be Remembered Thursday at Guam Veterans Center

Hagåtña, Guam – In commemoration of the September 11, 2001 terrorists attacks made on U.S Soil and to further honor the service and sacrifice of our Veterans and military personnel, the Guam Vet Center will be holding an Open House on Thursday, September 11,  from 10M to 2PM located in the Reflection Center, Agana Guam.

This Open House will give Veterans and their family members an opportunity to learn of the services provided to our Veterans and their families.

“As our island community joins on this day of remembrance, the Guam Vet Center would like to show how they care for our Veterans, and I encourage all members of our community to visit this Open House,” said Senator Frank B. Aguon, Jr. “In addition to this Open House, I also ask that my fellow Veterans take part in a swearing in ceremony of AmeriCorps members. Our Veterans epitomize selfless service and sacrifice for all, and there is no one better than our Veterans to swear in these men and women who want to serve our community.”

The Governor’s Serve Guam Commission will be hosting a ceremony for the National Day of Remembrance and the 20th Anniversary of AmeriCorps scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 9:00AM to be held on the front lawn of the Ricardo J. Bordallo Governor’s complex, in Adelup.  ]

A swearing in ceremony will be taking place for 140 members who are pledging their service through AmeriCorps, and the Governor’s Serve Guam Commission would like to have our Veterans swear in these members. For information on the ceremony you may contact Julie Iriarte at (671) 300-4599.
