The Guam Department of Labor is ready to send out $15.6 million in the next batch of PUA unemployment payments.
David Dell’Isola, the GDOL Director, told PNC News their vendor worked through the night to complete the batch by today (Tuesday).
The Department says it aims to batch every week on Tuesday, however they skipped last week with Dell’Isola citing various reasons to include DOA being behind on paper checks and application cleanups.
This latest batch covers cleans claims up to August 19.
The payments consist of $12.4 million in direct deposits, $1.9 million in paper checks, and $1.26 million in withholding taxes.
Dell’Isola says e-deposit recipients can expect to receive their payments as early as this Friday but more likely, the beginning of next week.
Checks should be mailed out on time with DOA recently onboarding a more efficient check processing system.
