Guam- 15 students were involved in a fight at Southern High School Thursday.
Principal James Petitte said the fight started when a student confronted another student who had punched his cousin. It then turned into a melee involving 15 students. Petitte says 14 of the students were suspended. One withdrew. Some might eventually be expelled.
2 students were taken to the Guam Memorial Hospital. One was a female student is believed to be pregnant, and was knocked down during the fighting. The other male student complained of hyper ventilation. GMH Spokesman Connor Murphy says the female student was under observation in the emergency room. The other student was not seen in E.R. and may have declined to be seen.
Officers from the Agat Precinct were called to the school. GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia says the students involved have been summoned to report to the Juvenile Investigations Section at a later date. Charges, he said, are pending.
Officer Balajadia said the male student who was first assaulted, did not report the assault to school officials. Instead that student told friends from his village and those friends confronted a group of students from another village, and a fight broke out.
