Guam – Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) is pleased to announce a commitment by XinYi Real Estate of Taiwan to bring 155 top-selling employees to the island for an incentive trip.
A recent boom in Taiwan’s real estate industry has led XinYi Real Estate, a leader in the industry, to reward its elite sales representatives with trips to Guam, Hokkaido, and Palau. According to GVB sales representatives in Taiwan, the Guam option filled up immediately.
“This is the type of MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) market growth we can achieve when our industry partners, travel trade in our core markets, and our GVB staff work together,” said GVB General Manager Gerald S.A. Perez. “We’re hoping to see even more growth in this niche market as we work with our airline partners for more convenient flight options and see completion of the convention center in resort Tumon.”
Continental Airlines has added a Feb. 3 charter for the group, which booked its trip through Royal China Express travel agency in Taiwan. Accommodations have been reserved at Hyatt Regency Guam.
Taiwan, particularly the southern city of Taichung near the Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, has been a significant source of growth for the MICE market to Guam in recent years. In 2010, the city accounted for an 82.1 percent increase in visitor arrivals, which GVB sales representatives attribute to an increase in incentive travel and seat capacity to the region.
