Guam – The ground floor of the Agana Shopping Center was evacuated Tuesday night after a foul odor sickened 16 people
GFD Spokesman Lt. Ed Artero reports that the 911 call came in at 7:55pm and GFD’s HazMat Unit was called to the scene to look for the source of the odor, but they couldn’t find it.
Of the 16 who complained of symptoms from the odor, Lt. Artero says 9 refused treatment, 7 were evaluated at the scene and 3 of the 7 were transported to GMH for treatment, he said.
Lt. Artero said the odor was reported throughout the Agana Shopping Center and not in any one store.
The all clear was sounded at 11:03pm, and the HazMat team reported “negative findings,” meaning they were not able to determine what cause the odor or where the odor was coming from.
