The Guam Department of Revenue and Taxation has announced that payments for “A” status applications received on September 1, 2021, will be processed today and will be transmitted to the Treasurer of Guam.
DRT director Dafne Shimizu told NewsTalk K57 that the first payments can be expected by next week.
“A” status applications are those which meet all eligibility requirements and for which there were no errors.
The agency estimates that there are about 18,000 “A” status payments that will be processed for September 1 filings totaling approximately $19,000,000.
“This release follows the hundreds of millions of dollars processed and released by DRT in Economic Impact Payments and precedes the release of millions more in Child Tax Credit Payments,” stated Governor Leon Guerrero. “I thank the people of Guam for their patience and thank the hard-working employees at DRT that have withstood the criticisms and pressures that come with trying to get tens of millions of dollars responsibly into the hands of our people who need it most.”
“From cash aid to providing supports in health and education, we will continue to focus resources to provide services to our people,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio. “Even more remarkable is the record-breaking number of applications online, helping to expedite processing of these payments. Thank you to DRT who have successfully implemented this program and who continue to process millions in aid to our people.”
As of 6 p.m. Thursday, September 9, a total of 33,209 applications were received with 25,334, or about 76%, of them being filed online. DRT is working to process all manual applications so that it can have a final tally of the total dollar amount associated with all applications.
The application period for the All RISE Program will be ending at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15. Until then, DRT will be receiving applications as follows only:
- Online at www.myguamtax.com
- At the Income Tax Branch at DRT 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
Applications are processed on a first in first out basis and payment is based on eligibility criteria set forth in Executive Order No. 2021-18. Executive Order No. 2021-18 authorized eligible applicants who successfully apply to receive $800 if they are individual filers and $1,600 if they are joint filers.
