StayWell launches the ‘Got Diabetes Grant Program’

The StayWell Guam Diabetes Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Got Diabetes Grant Program.

The Foundation understands the financial difficulties our island residents face especially during the COVID pandemic.

Prior to the pandemic our island marked 12% of adult population with diabetes, 62% of total population obese or overweight and 23% of our kids classified as obese.

Our island residents struggled to pay for on-going costs associated with diabetes care. The financial strain was further exasperated by the COVID19 pandemic and loss of jobs.

The Foundation has heard the struggles and developed a program to assist those in need.

This private and confidential Program provides support to eligible individuals who are struggling to purchase medicines, supplies and services related to the management of diabetes.

Individuals with insurance may still qualify for this program if they attest that they have special circumstances of financial and medical hardship and their income meets the program criteria. Residents of Guam may apply to determine eligibility for the Program and may receive up to $250 while funds are available.

If you have diabetes, we encourage you to visit staywellguamdiabetesfoundation.com or call (671)-922-0117 to obtain and complete the application.

The President of the Board of Director’s, Chen Yu Mack, is a firm believer in giving and has been seeking ways to make meaningful contribution to the community.

Since the official launch of the Foundation in May 2015, the Foundation held the Inaugural Gala in 2018, provided learning resources to the Department of Education, and donated $30,000 to Tano Ta Lions Club for the purchase of Mobile Health Clinic.
