Guam – Almost a year ago, family, friends and fellow Service Members, bid farewell to Guam Army National Guard First Lieutenant Telena Nelson just days before she flew out to attend mobilization training, before deploying to Afghanistan.
Sunday night, at the A.B. Won Pat International Terminal, family and friends welcomed her back home.
1st Lt. Nelson deployed as an individual augmentee and was attached to the 1225th Combat Support Battalion from the Michigan Army National Guard, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan.

There are two teams of Guam Air National Guard Airmen still deployed in the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The Guam Army National Guard’s infantry battalion, the 1-294th Infantry Regiment, has been identified in a recent Notification of Sourcing announcement to deploy with the 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Hawaii Army National Guard.
