Some $2.1 million worth of income tax refunds disbursed in 777 checks are being mailed Monday, according to the Department of Revenue and Taxation and the Department of Administration.
The tax refunds are for error-free returns filed on or before Feb. 14, 2019, including refunds garnished to repay government debts.
Adelup says it has caught up with income tax refunds and is now releasing refunds as quickly as possible
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero previously said her administration is processing and paying tax refunds at a similar pace to previous years, even though it has to do so with lesser resources.
By law, the Department of Revenue and Taxation is required to square away prior year returns before current refunds can begin.
The law also requires GovGuam to pay out refunds within six months of the deadline for filing.
