The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4 that struck 28 kilometers north of Yigo with a depth of 139.8 kilometers, at 8:27 a.m. (ChST).
A second earthquake was recorded by USGS with a preliminary magnitude of 4.3 that struck 26 kilometers north of Rota, Northern Mariana Islands with a depth of 103.4 kilometers at 8:27 a.m. (ChST)
There were no reports made to Guam 911 dispatch of damages or injuries from the earthquakes.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community that when an earthquake strikes, conduct the earthquake procedure, “Drop, Cover and Hold On” until the shaking stops.
