2 Guam National Guard Soldiers Returning From Deployment


Guam – Two Soldiers, from the Guam Army National Guard’s 1990th Contingency Contracting Team (CCT), will arrive on Guam tonight after a ten month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan

The Soldiers of this highly specialized unit played a critical role during the continued draw-down of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan.  They were tasked with handling all contracting actions in the Afghanistan area of operations.

One Soldier from the 1990th CCT returned home in late February for a family emergency.

One Soldier remains in Hawaii pending completion of demobilization activities and should return early next week.

The return of this unit is the last of any Guam Army National Guard Soldiers deployed in a theater of combat operations.
