2 middle schools go into lockdown–one for a bullet, the other because of an unruly student

Guam – Two public middle schools went into lockdown today, one because a bullet was found on campus while the other was because of a belligerent student.

Guam Department of Education Spokeswoman Isa Baza says Untalan Middle School initiated a shelter in place at 10:30 a.m. after a bullet was found on campus this morning.

A search of the campus was initiated and the Guam Police Department was contacted. Baza said the bullet was found on campus and the all clear was given at 11:38 a.m.

“I’m waiting for the final report with further details,” she said.

Then about an hour later, Jose Rios Middle School went into lockdown at 12:45 p.m. because of a belligerent student on campus.

“The lockdown was initiated as a precautionary measure,” said Baza adding that GPD was also contacted.

The all clear for JRMS was given at 1:20 p.m.
