2-Thousand Acres of Un-Used Federal Lands On Guam; Barnes Asks Governor to Urge DOD to Give It Back


Guam – Senator Tina Muna-Barnes is calling on Governor Eddie Calvo to urge the Federal Government to return excess lands that are not going to be a part of the military buildup.

According to a letter sent to Governor Calvo’s office Thursday, Senator Muna-Barnes says that the Guam Economic Development Authority has identified 2-thousand acres of federal land not slated for the Guam Military Buildup.

Senator Muna-Barnes is urging the Governor to pursue the return of these excess lands,  and she is asking that none of these properties be exchanged for any civilian property that maybe is needed for the buildup.
