Guam – The George Washington Geckos defeated the JFK Islanders in two sets to keep their undefeated record going into the post season of the IIAAG high school boys volleyball league. The Islanders advanced to the winners bracket but could not accomplish another upset against the more developed Geckos.
Errors plagued the Islanders in the first set, that, coupled with an unceasing GW attack seemed to be a reality check for the Islanders. The second set looked as though it was going to be a repeat of the first but that changed after the Islanders rallied and kept the Geckos from running away with the win. The Geckos took back control and won the set int he final moments.
The Geckos will now move on to challenge the number two seeded Okkodo Bulldogs, who defeated the Royals in two sets.
The St.Paul Warriors and the GAA Angels were eliminated from the playoffs.
