Friars Hold Off Knights In Volleyball


Guam- The Father Duenas Friars knocked down the St. John’s Knights is two sets 25-19, 25-14 last night at the FD Phoenix center.  The Friars took advantage of mistakes but also made mistakes of their own and held down the Knights in the first set.  The second set saw a more dominating Friars who got the job done against a killer Kinghts jump serve who were looking to extend the match to three sets early on.

“The St. John’s Knights are a good team, we have a decent game all the way around but we need to work on all aspects of our game… we’re decent but we’re not great and hopefully we can improve by playoff time,” said F.D. Head Coach Steve Pangelinan after the match.

In other boy’s volleyball matches the Okkodo Bulldogs defeated the Notre Dame Royals 25-15, 25-18.  The John F. Kennedy Islanders over the Simon Sanchez Sharks 25-21, 24-26, 25-17. And the Harvest Christian Academy Eagles beat the guam Adventist Academy Angels 25-18, 25-20.
