Guam- The IT&E National Team are the new Philippine Amateur Basketball League title holders after holding down JP Cruz and the MVP Stars in a riveting deciding game of the finals.
It was, by far, no easy task. This game could’ve have easily went to the MVP Stars had Cruz not missed a game tying free throw and MVP missing the final shot of the game but the National Team did start off hot.
In the beginning of the game IT&E rained threes to start off with an 11-0 run. But the Cruz would get a run of his own to tie the score at the end of the first. In the second quarter the Stars would gain a minor lead but another run would bring the National team back on top.
As expected the game went down to the wire and was determined at the free throw line. Nothing short of exciting. The IT&E National Team escaped the clutches of the MVP Stars 90-89 and claim the PABL Title. Last year the Ace Hardware Aces won the title which is basically the MVP Stars. Cruz dropped in 39 points for the game high and Vince Estella was named the series Most Valuable Player.
