Guam- On Sunday September 26th the Guam International Raceway Motorcycle and Atv Corporation held round two of the scheduled seven round RPM Yamaha and Cycles Plus Honda Monsoon Motocross Series. With wet early morning conditions making for a slick race track the racing kicked off at 1pm with the Open Atv class under clear sunny skies. The racing was free to the public to come out and watch. Participants and racers alike were treated to some great mud flinging bar banging action out on the track.
Grabbing an early lead in the Open Atv class was #14 Suzuki mounted Kelly Simpson who managed to stay up front for the better part of a lap before being over taken by #1 Robert Bucek aboard the Cycles Plus Suzuki Ltr450. A heated battle for third place was between #83 Dan Girgan on a Polaris, Marcus Guerrero jr on a Suzuki, and #8 Jeremiah Shelton also aboard a Suzuki. The trio went back and forth before Shelton took control in the second half of the event. Taking first was Robert Bucek followed by Kelly Simpson in second and Jeremiah Shelton in third. Marcus Guerrero jr took fourth with Dan Girgan rounding out the top five in fifth.
After the Open Atv class the Open Motorcycle class lined up for their heat. The open motorcycle class consists of both 250cc and 450cc engine sized machines. Taking the lead from the drop of the green flag was Kawasaki mounted Pacific Trucking supported #11 Michael Limtiaco who went for the most part unchallenged to the overall round 2 win. Doing his best to keep Michael Limtiaco honest was 13 year old Triple J supported #33 Jake Jones who was breaking in a new race bike during the event. Jones kept the leader Limtiaco in sight but was never able to put on a challenge for the lead. Jones took a well earned second place for his efforts aboard his new ride. Taking third was #25 Lawrence Limtiaco aboard his Fleet Services supported Kawasaki. Fourth place went to #94 Yamaha mounted Bryan Barker.
In the Kids Open Mini Atv class Barnaby Guerrero aboard his 90cc Drx debuted his talents at the Guam International Raceway by taking first and sweeping the event. Taking second was Dream Catchers supported racer #83 Raven Girgan aboard her red Polaris. Rookie racer Victoria Clark took third place in the Kids Open and first place in the Kids 70cc class aboard her team Dream Catchers supported Apex 70.
Round three of the RPM Yamaha and Cycles Plus Honda Monsoon Motocross will be held on Sunday October 10th set to begin at 1pm rain or shine and free to the public to come out and watch.
