Sign Up For San Mig Basketball


Guam- Mabuhay! San Miguel and Tropical Productions is excited to present the 2nd Annual San Miguel Basketball League, starting September 19, 2010. Basketball Superstars may begin signing up for the San Miguel Basketball League at 76/Circle K, MCV, and Mid Pacific Distributors from now until September 6, 2010. The league is presented by 76/Circle K and MCV and will kick off with an opening ceremony on September 18 at Noon. Games will be played every Saturday and Sunday showcasing exciting basketball action for fans to enjoy all weekend.

“San Miguel was proud of the last years initial Basketball League for the Filipino community of Guam and is happy to make it happen again to continue promoting the culture and heritage of the Philippines through the country’s number one sport of basketball,” says E.J. Calvo, assistant general manager for Mid Pacific Distributors – the official distributor of San Miguel on Guam. “We are very thrilled to provide this great event for both the Filipino athletes and spectators from the community at large.”

All league participants must be of Filipino descent or have some Filipino ethnicity in order to compete, establishing a fair and even playing field of competition. The San Miguel Basketball League will provide an opportunity for every-day athletes to play the sport they love in a competitive environment.

Thanks to the support from San Miguel, 76/Circle K and MCV, this league will also be extremely affordable for the average team or group at $800 per non-sponsored teams and $1,000 per sponsored teams. Each team will be provided 15 sets of uniform jerseys, a league t-shirt and a case of San Miguel after every game. Entry forms are available at all 76/Circle K locations and the deadline to register is Friday, September 17, 2010.
