Guam – It was a wet and rainy GFA Beck’s Cup final match. The rains fell for the entire match and ranged from a slight drizzle to a downpour. But that didn’t stop the match from going on.
Quality Distributors and Cars Plus survived the single elimination cup schedule to face off in the final. Cars Plus was coming off their first title win in the Budweiser Men’s Soccer league where they went undefeated and continued that streak into the GFA Cup. They also looked to get consecutive titles in only their second year as a team.
The only ones standing in their way was Quality Distributors, who are no strangers to winning the Men’s Soccer title and the Cup title. And Quality Distributors proved that Cars Plus FC can be beaten.
Cars Plus was the first to score after a shot from Jonahan Romero hit the cross bar and bounces off the face of QD’s goalkeeper. Thirteen minutes and Thirty Minutes later Scott Spindel would equalize and then get the winning goal for Quality distributors who can now add another trophy into their showcase. Quality distributors defeated Cars Plus 2-1 for the 2011 GFA Beck’s Cup title.
In the third place match, MDA Cobras defeated Guam Shipyard 4-2. Jan flores scored a hat trick in MDA’s win and Jason Cunliffe and Aaron Jackson were the two scorers for Shipyard.
