Guam – The Atkins Kroll Islanders need to thank Team Belau for helping them with their stats. There was no defense to be found for Belau in the start of last night’s Budweiser Baseball League game and that’s not the way you want to start out against a team like AK.
The Belau gloves couldn’t snatch pop flies to the outfield which made singles and doubles turn into triples and driving runs home. Miller Santos was in the prime location of the line up and finished the first inning with 5RBIs and Belau’s starting pitcher could not get himself out of a jam and walked in two runners and allowed another home with a hit by pitch. Needless to say, his time on the mound was over before the inning was done and AK mounted a 12-0 lead by the end of the first. The game ended in the seventh inning via 10 run rule, 19-2.
Joe Pangelinan was awarded with the win and got 12 strikeouts for the night. Miller Santos went an astonishing 5-6 with 2 runs and 6 RBIs. Jim Reyes was 2-4 with 3 runs and 2 RBIs and Chad Palomo was 3-4 with 2 Runs and a ribi. Jordan Mongami and Cameron Takeo were the only two runs for Belau. This win puts AK at 11-2 and drops Belau to 1-10.
