Braves Shake Up Reds 4-1 in Bud Baseball

Guam – The Moylan’s O.D.C. Braves won’t move out of second place in the Budweiser Baseball League after a defensive performance that started on the mound prevented the Agana Heights Docomo Reds from batting in any runners.  JP Aguon and Raul Pangelinan sat down 4 batters a peice.   The Braves had many opportunities to bat runners in but left a ton of runners stranded on base.

The Reds only run of the game came off the only error for the Braves and a consistent defensive performance like this will help them survive the playoffs.

“Defense was key for us… That’s what we’re trying to fine tune, pitching and defense and hopefully our offense rebounds come playoff time,” said Braves’ Tony Yatar.

This win puts the Braves tied at second with AK Islanders at 8-2 and this keeps the Reds’ hunt for a postseason appearance on shaky ground.

JP Aguon was awarded the win.  BJ Balajadia stole his way around the diamond and snatched up 4 bases.  TJ Sarmiento was 2-2 with an RBI and Tony Doyle was 1-3 with a run and a ribi.  Tommy Morrison was given the loss.  He finished with 5 strikeouts for the night.  Victor Villagomez went 2-3 with a run.

Tonight the Saipan Cyclones will face the Jr.Nats and it’s the opportunity for both team to snap their respective losing streaks.  Game starts at 7 and the Paseo Stadium.
