Guam – It was a wet night in last night’s Budweiser baseball game and a night that featured two homeruns. The game was stopped a handful of times but the field was deemed good enough to play and the game was able to finish and avoid a reschedule.
Before the game was stopped for rain, the defending Moylan’s ODC Braves went to work quick and drove in a couple of runs before BJ Balajadia stepped to the plate and smacks a screamer over the left field wall with one man on for a 2 run homer. That made it a 4-0 ballgame. Balajadia brought the bog boy bat to the game and was a double away from completing a cycle.
Four was the number for the night. With the score 4-0, the game was stopped four times in the fourth innings because of rain. Fortunately, the Braves were able to complete the game and smashed the Paradise Fitness Junior Nationals 13-2 and Rico Castro ended the night with a homerun of his own and he now leads the league with 3.
The Braves now improve to 9-2 and tied with AK and a game behind. Tony Yatar got the win on the mound with 8 strikeouts. BJ Balajadia was perfect at the plate and finished 3-3 with 3 runs, 5RBIs and a homer. Rico Castro was 1-3 with a run and 3RBIs and that one hit was a homer. For the Nats, Frank Troy got the loss. Gerald Borja was 1-4 with a run, Byron Quenga was 1-3 with a run and Shane Tenorio was 2-3 with an RBI.
Tomorrow night the AK Islanders will play the Saipan Cyclones. The Cyclones are on a nine game losing streak. Game starts a seven at the Paseo Stadium.
