Three-Way Tie For 1st In Bud Baseball

290

Guam – Here’s a real quick recap of last night’s (Sunday) game in the Budweiser Baseball League.  The Moylan’s ODC Braves shut out Team Belau 5-0 in a great defensive battle and pushed a three way tie for first place in the Budweiser Baseball league.

The Braves had four hits for the night and Braves pitcher CJ San Miguel threw a no hitter up until the seventh inning before getting relieved and the Braves left Belau to only one hit for the night.  Jarvin Maech was the one who robbed San Miguel of a no hitter.  San Miguel was awarded the win and ended with 11 strikeouts for the night and one short of tying the most strikeouts in a game this season.

This win puts the Braves at 12-2 and tied with the AK Islanders and the Bank of Guam A’s.  In order to determining seeding for the post season the teams will play each other.  The first two teams picked in a raffle will challenge each other and the loser will be the third seeded team.  The winner will then challenge the remaining 12-2 team and the loser will be placed in the second seed.

Interestingly enough, if the Agana Heights Docomo Reds and the 76 Bank Pacific Cougars win the rest of their games, there will be a tie for fourth place. But that’s still wait and see.

No schedule has been determined for the tie breaking games and the tie break system was agreed upon before the season started.
