AK Islanders Holds Down Bank Of Guam A’s In 10 Innings

Guam – The A’s took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the game and tied the game twice and send the game to extra innings but would never get the lead again.

The bottom of the fourth inning is where the Islanders took the lead. JQ Quintanilla at the plate with bases loaded and a grounder to short would bring in a run but a wild throw to first would bring in another run for AK and put the Islanders up 2-1.

In the next inning the A’s would tie the game for the first time, Derwin Aguon gets a favorable bounce that send a runner home to knot the game at 2 a piece.  But at the bottom of the inning the Islanders would grab a one run lead after Miller Santos pops one over the third baseman making it a 3-2 game.

After going up 4-2 the Bank tied the game in the top of the 9th getting one run off one hit that was preceded by Derwin’s homer in the eighth.  In the bottom of the tenth Jim Reyes hits a single with bases loaded to bring in the winning run.  

AK beat the A’s 5-4 to improve to 2-1 while the A’s drop to 2-1 for their first loss of the season.  

John Pangelinan got the win on the mound with 5 stiekouts and Eric Cepeda was given the loss with 1K.

For AK, Jim Reyes was 1-5 with an RBI and Pat Alvarex was 2-3 with an RBI.  For the A’s, Matt Muna went 2-5 with a ribi and Derwin Aguon was 3-4 with a run, RBI and a homer.  Roke Alcantara Jr started on the mound for the A’s and sat down 5 batters.
