Guam – It was a defensive showdown in last night’s game. The Junior Nats were the first to bring in a run in the bottom of the 3. The ballgame stayed at 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth when the Nats get a run in off an error.
A minor rain delay took place in the seventh inning. When the game resumed the A’s would get into the game with a run in the eighth and tie the game in the ninth. The A’s would then get a run in the tenth and end the ball game with a 3-2 win and tied for first.
“I tip my hat off to the Junior Nationals. If there’s any team that anyone has to look out for, it’s the Nationals,” said Shon Muna, A’s Manager.
Frank Dela Cruz started on the mound for the A’s and got 5 strikeouts. Eric Cepeda was given the win and finished with 3 Ks. Shon Muna, Jr. went 1-3 with a run. Matt Muna was 4-5. Roke Alcantara, Jr. was 2-4 with a ribi and Ryan Martinez was 3-4 with a run.
For the Nats, Luther Pollycard went 1-1 with a run and Gerald Borja got a run. Richard Ward was given the loss with 2 strikeouts.
This win puts the A’s at 7-1 and tied with AK in the top spot. The Jr. Nats fall to 2-6. Tomorrow night the Agana Heights Docomo Reds will take on the 76 Bank Pacific Cougars. Both teams are 3-4, game starts at 7:00pm at Paseo Stadium.
