Guam Soccer Wins First Match In Taiwan

Guam – The Guam Under-15 Boys’ National Soccer Team are currently playing in the 2011 East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) U-15 Youth Tournament in Chinese Taipei.

The Guam delegation, which includes 16 players and four officials, arrived in Taipei and got ready to play Macau, which they challenged last night.  Guam defeated Macau 1-0 when Keith Surber got fouled 15 yards from the top of the penalty box.  The resulting free kick was misplayed by the goalie and Nathan Camacho immediately kicked the rebound from 5 yards out in the 37th minute.

The tournament also includes Hong Kong, Northern Mariana Islands and hosts Chinese Taipei.  Guam will play the host, Chinese Taipei, tomorrow afternoon.

In the other matches in the tournament NMI lost to Chinese Taipei 17-0 and  Hong Kong beat Korea 1-0.
