Guam –  Inarajan Hawks Dominic Sablan’s back to back three pointers and a technical foul free throw gave his team a big win over the Tamuning Typhoons in last night’s Golden Hoops Classic Fall 2011 Tournament game at Tamuning Gym.

With 30 seconds left on the clock Sablan’s three point swish kept the Hawks in the game trailing 48-49. Typhoons Derrick Royster pulled down a defensive rebound sending the pass to Roque Charfauros who scored on the fast break to maintain the lead 51-48 when Sablan fired back with an uncontested swish behind the arc to tie the game 51-51. A timeout called on the floor by the Typhoons cost them a technical foul with .08 seconds left for having zero timeouts remaining. Sablan missed the first free throw but confidently sank the second to win the game 52-51.

Hawks Sablan and Jarvis Duenas scored 12 points a piece while Typhoons Edgardo Baza scored 15 points followed by Charfauros nine points in the loss.

In the other game last night, Pacific Tyre earned their first win in the round robin behind Francis Benitez 24 points and Melbourne Talledo’s 12 points. Bank of Guam’s Nate Torres had a game high 27 points while teammate Carlito Reyes added 14 points.  Pacific Tyre held off Bank Of Guam 55-51.
