Mud Racing Set For Sunday At Raceway Park

302

Guam – Mud Racing, eating and cleaning are all going to happen this Sunday, June 26, at the Guam International Raceway Park in Yigo.

Racers, friends and family are requested to help clean up the raceway and are encouraged to provide bush cutters, chainsaws, large trash bags, brooms and rakes in an effort to keep the park in tip-top shape.  Along with the cleanup is a potluck.  So bring what you like to eat.

Also this Sunday the 4Wheelin guys and gals will be hosting the 2011 Summer Blast X-Treme Mud Racing.  The mud drags will go on from 10:00am – 6:00pm and if you think your 4-wheel drive vehicle has the muscle to run through a very healthy mud bog it’s only a $25.00 entry fee.  If you just want to watch mud fly all over the place there is a $5.00 spectator fee and children under 12 are free.  Cash prizes will be given to the finalists.  Competitors will compete on a man made obstacle course for distance and time.  You can contact Mike Sanchez from Racer’s Edge at 647.1896 for more information on the mud racing.

Sunday is also the day to register to compete for the next scheduled drift race which is scheduled for July 3rd.  The Guam Drifting Association presents UPSHIFT Stancefest 1 and Round 2 of the Monster Energy/ Proline Drift Series on that day and you can contact Tom Akigami at 687.1800 for more information on the drift races.

Then mark your calendars for July 10th for Round 8/10 of the Monster Energy 2011 Guam Motocross championships.  Caleb Barretto still holds the lead with 302 points and Jonathan Ty Lizama is second at 258.  Jake Jones rounds out the top 3 at 246.
