Guam – The Southern Rai blew open a lead that the Inarajan Hawks could not overcome.
Defense was the problem for the Hawks who left players open in the paint but the speed of Rai was also key in last nights win in the 14 and under competitive division. By the end of the second quarter Rai mounted a 28 point lead.
The Hawks tried desperately to get an offense going and had to resort to the three point plays in order to get back into the game but three point attempt could not find their mark and a failure to rebound helped Rai convert turnovers for points adding to their lead. Towards the end of the game the Southern team were able to put in a fresh five that kept the fast pace going until the final buzzer. Southern Rai defeated the Inarajan Hawks 61-33.
Wayne Jesus led Rai with 15 points and Keanu Diego led the Hawks with 14 points. In the other 14 and under competitive game the MTM Falcons slammed the Sinajana Rockers 37-19.
