Governor Lou Leon Guerrero swore in 21 new police officers Friday evening during a graduation ceremony at the Dusit Thani hotel in Tumon.
Hundreds of family members and friends joined island leaders for the swearing-in ceremony.
The 21 recruits graduated from the 10th Police Officer Training Cycle.
This was one of the largest training cycles in years, said Guam police spokesman Officer Paul Tapao.
The Guam Police Department now has a total of 312 officers on the force, although that remains short of GPD’s goal of more than 400.
Another training cycle is scheduled for next year.
