23 port employees test negative for COVID-19

Port Authority of Guam General Manager Rory J. Respicio received confirmation that 23 Port employees who took the COVID-19 test earlier this week came out with negative results.

The 23 employees were exposed to the COVID-19 positive case reported September 4, 2021 and were identified through the Port’s Contact Tracing Team. They are all connected and work within the same division.

“We must all keep doing our part by following mask and social distancing guidelines and getting vaccinated,” Respicio said. “Any employee who feels any symptoms of the virus should get tested immediately and stay at home to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 at their workplace. If you believe that you may have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you should also get tested immediately.”

As of Thursday, Sept. 9, 309 (89%) Port employees are fully vaccinated, 23 (7%) have received the first dose of the vaccine, and 16 (4%) employees are still not vaccinated.
