Haize Lu arrested, escorted away from CQA Office.
Haize Lu, a 37 year old Chinese man, was arrested today for unlawfully entering Guam.
Head down, eyes shielded by his cap, Lu walked down the steps from the building of Guam’s Immigration office, escorted by a Customs officer.
Lu is alleged to have arrived on the island’s coastline via boat from the CNMI; a common characteristic among foreign nationals sailing into Guam.
The Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency, along with Guam Police Department, joined forces to make today’s arrest. The Attorney General’s Office aided in the investigation.
According to the police report, Lu is charged with the following:
- Failure to Acquire Clearance of Requirements,
- Failure to Deliver a Manifest to a Customs Officer,
- and Invalid Unloading.
This arrest makes Lu the 2nd foreign national to be arrested. The first arrest being Jiafeng Lu, just a week ago. However, Jiafeng was released on bail earlier this week.
These recent efforts are part of the local, multi-agency task force created by Governor Leon Guerrero to mitigate unlawful entries.
Moreover, residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the CQA at (671) 642-8071/2 or GPD at (671) 475-8615/7.
