Guam – Three Guam Police Officers were assaulted Sunday in 2 separate incidents involving individuals who had been drinking and became belligerent.
The first incident occurred just before 1 pm Sunday afternoon at the San Gil Apartments in Harmon.
In a release, GPD Information Officer Mercy Grino states that Officers from the Tumon-Tamuning Precinct were responding to a disturbance call of a man, possibly intoxicated, who was engaged in a “verbal altercation with another individual, ” according to the police report.
The suspect then attempted to engage another person in a “verbal altercation” when Police arrived. The report states that he then challenged and assaulted one of the officers.
36 year old Jackson Edwards of Harmon was booked and confined for Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct. He was booked and confined.
The second incident led to the arrest of 24 year old Kasty Selkar of Yigo on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness and 2 counts of assaulting a Police Officer, among other charges.
This incident occurred about 7 pm Sunday evening when Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated and belligerent man at the JED Apartments in Tamuning.
The Police report alleges that Selkar assaulted one person and attempted to assault another. He continued to be belligerent and uncooperative when Officers arrived on the scene.
When police confronted him, the report states that Selkar became combative and started to kick and yell at the 2 officers who were placing him inside their patrol vehicle.
Selkar was booked and confined.
