3 Military Personnel Attacked in Tumon Over Weekend

Guam – According to release from GPD PIO A.J. Balajadia, 3 active duty military personnell were attacked by about 10 young male locals near the Sling Shot ride in Tumon.
 The incident occurred on Saturday Nov. 23rd at about 9pm. This is the second incident of an attack on military personnel by a group of local males in as many weeks. The previous weekend a similar assault occurred in the Acanta Mall parking garage. In this latest incident the three victims had to be transported to Naval Hospital for treatment. There is CCTV footage in the area that GPD is currently reviewing. According to Balajadia, Police Chief Fred Bordallo is taking these incidents seriously and is working with the military in charging any individual’s involved in these assaults. TUMON – Saturday, November 23, 2013 at around 9:00pm, the Guam Police Department received a report of a disturbance by the Sling Slot, in Tumon.  Three active duty military personnel were assaulted by approximately 10 young male locals.  The three victims were transported to Naval Hospital for treatment.
The Guam Police is investigating this latest incident and will be reviewing CCTV footage to help determine what took place.  We are also asking the public to provide us information regarding the responsible involved.
Chief Bordallo is taking these types of incidents against our military personnel seriously and will work with our military counterparts in charging any individual involved in these assaults.
This case remains opened and has been forwarded to Criminal Investigations Section for followup.
