The Guam Community College will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 34 participants who recently completed Adult High School and High School equivalency.

Of the 34 graduates, 30 completed the Adult High School program and four passed the Adult Equivalency exam to receive their high school diploma.

“We are proud to host this graduation for our adult high school program,” says Dr. Ray Somera, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “To come back to school to earn your high school diploma later on in life is truly commendable. It does take drive and determination and I am excited at the sense of achievement and pride these graduates now have,” he added.

It has been many years since the college held a graduation ceremony on its campus.  The ceremony is traditionally held along with the commencement ceremony for all graduates in May. Participants requested a separate ceremony to celebrate their accomplishment rather than waiting several months for the annual commencement.

The graduation will be held Saturday Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. at the GCC Multipurpose Auditorium at the college’s Mangilao campus.

Popular Guam media personality Chris “Malafunkshun” Barnett will be the Alumnus inspirational speaker for the graduation ceremony.
