The Guam Department of Labor says the next batch of unemployment payments should be hitting bank accounts Monday or Tuesday this week.

This batch totals around $36.9 million.

David Dell’Isola, the Department’s Director, said this batch covers error-free returns through July 14.

He says the majority ($29.6M) are being paid through direct deposit, while another $4M are going out through paper checks.

GDOL closed down in-office operations, including Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, in light of the stricter PCOR 1 measures.

The department’s shut down is from noon Friday, Aug. 21 through noon Friday, Aug. 28 as mandated by the order, unless extended by the governor.

They say GDOL and PUA staff will continue to telework at a limited capacity and claimants may receive phone calls and/or emails from staff working to solve outstanding issues on individual applications.

The library processing centers will remain closed as long as the island is in Pandemic Condition of Readiness 1.
