The District Court of Guam yesterday hosted a special President’s Day Naturalization Ceremony, welcoming 37 new citizens who hail from China, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and the Federated States of Micronesia.
District Court Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood said the new American citizens have become a part of history and serve as an inspiration to all future naturalized citizens to come.
“Congratulations to the new citizens of our great nation,” she said.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony was Melissa B. Savares. Mayor Savares has been the mayor of Dededo since January 2005. She currently serves as the President of the Mayors Council of Guam.
