The case was first reported to Police at about 7:40 Monday morning Dededo Precinct officers responded to an injured person call at the Astumbo Fire Department.

When they got there, the injured man told Police that just after 5 am he had been waiting inside his car at the intersection of “Route 3 and the FAA area,” waiting for his mother to return from her morning walk.

The man’s identity has not been released.

The man said that while he was waiting, he was approached by three males and a female. They asked him for a ride to a store located on Ysengsong Road in Dededo. The man agreed to give them a ride.

It’s not clear why a man waiting for his mother would agree to give 4 strangers a ride. Officer Balajadia said “that’s one of the things our agents are looking into.”

However,  while in route to the store,  the man says his 4 passangers changed their minds and told him to drive to Chalan Palauan in Dededo, rather than to the store on Ysengsong.

When he got to Chalan Palauan he says he was told to stop by a water station. And then, the man says, he was “choked from behind as the other suspects proceeded to beat and punch his face.”

The man says he managed to break free and got out of his car and ran to a friends home nearby. His car was stolen.
