Guam – A 40-year-old woman has died from injuries she sustained in a car accident Sunday night.
Leonora Taulung was involved in a car crash that happened on Rt. 1 near McDonald’s in Yigo. The accident was reported around 11:55 pm.
Guam Police Spokesperson Capt. Kim Santos says a Toyota Echo traveling southbound collided with a black SUV. Four people were taken to the hospital, including Taulung and a three-year-old child.
Two adults and the child were taken to the Guam Memorial Hospital. Taulung was rushed to GRMC. She died yesterday at 6:40 pm, according to GRMC Spokesperson Kevin Kerrigan.
Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola says Taulung died as a result of a skull fracture and broken neck. He says she was seated at the backseat along with the minor and both were not wearing any seatbelts at the time of impact.
The child was discharged from GMH this afternoon, according to GMH Spokesperson June Perez.
Captain Santos says the case remains open and is still under investigation.
