It’s on to the next chapter for seven participants who have completed the Guam Community College’s Truck Driving Transportation Boot Camp.
GCC partnered with six local companies to hold the first Truck Driving Transportation Boot Camp to address the shortage of licensed and trained commercial truck drivers on Guam.
The program spanned 14 weeks, and not only did participants receive training to prepare them to test for their C-Class license, they also earned nationally recognized certificates in WorkEthics, OSHA-10, National Career Readiness, and CPR/Basic First Aid.
While the program started with 15 participants, seven were able to successfully complete all the training requirements.
Two have taken and passed their C-class license exam and will now be hired by the partner companies.
