More Gold In Guam’s Future

Guam- Team Guam brought in some more gold medals in the 7th Micronesian Games in Palau.  Guam got gold in the Mixed Doubles and Men’s Doubles Tennis events and also got a gold medal in men’s volleyball after defeating Pohnpei.

Pohnpei still stands in the way of Guam gold in men’s and women’s softball and Guam has a gold medal game in women’s basketball and will be challenging Northern Mariana Islands. And speaking of basketball, the Guam men’s team in undefeated in the Games and have to survive Republic of the Marshall Islands in order to see a gold medal game.  

In the medal count, the host country of Palau not only leads the total medal count at 125 but also lead the pack in individual medal count with 52 gold, 43 silver and 30 bronze.  CNMI has the second most gold medals at 44 but have second most total medals at 90.  Guam currently has 17 gold medals, 23 silver, and 20 bronze and third overall at 60 with gold medal games remaining.
