The Crab Festival will start on Friday from 6 pm to 12 midnight.
Guam – The village of Merizo is holding their annual Gupot Chamorro Crab Festival.
The Merizo Mayor’s Office and the Guam Visitors Bureau put together a fun-filled three-day event this year. The festivities begin on Friday night, where there will be performances from the Merizo Martyrs Memorial School, local bands and fire dancers. Then on Saturday and Sunday, the line of great entertainment continues along with events such as spear fishing, canoe paddling race, tuba drinking, stuffed crab competition and the famous crab catching contest.
Merizo Mayor Ernest Chargualaf says, “Every year it seems that the event gets bigger and bigger. I want to keep it that way. It’s a testament to our village is next to the waters, rivers and streams. I want to invite everyone on Guam, those who have been to the crab festival, I’m pretty sure they’ll want to come back again. For those who have never been here before, I invite them as well.”
The Crab Festival will start on Friday from 6 pm to 12 midnight. Then the event continues on Saturday and Sunday at the Malesso Veteran Sons and Daughters Pier Park Grounds from 11 am to 12 midnight.
