In the retrial of Mark Torre Jr., the recording of the 911 calls made on that fateful night was played again in court
Cherika Chargualaf, the GFD Emergency Medical Dispatcher who received the call in the early morning of July 13, 2015, took the stand this morning.
In the recording of the first phone call, Sgt. Elbert Piolo identified himself. He could be heard saying he was shot and that his address was in Chalan Irensia.
Chargualaf asked who was with him at that call and he said Mark Torre. He was also heard saying “Help me, I’m gonna die…”
In the recording, Chargualaf repeatedly asked directions to the site of the shooting while speaking with Officer Mark Torre Jr., and later, Lt. Mark Torre Sr., who corrected the address when he took over the call.
Lt. Torre told Chargualaf that they were at the Torre residence in Chalan Enriquen Rosario in Yigo.
Since units were already dispatched to Chalan Irensia, Chargualaf said the units had to be rerouted to the Torre residence in Yigo.
Chargualaf said she wasn’t the initial receiver of the call, which was placed at around 2 a.m., but did take the call as the supervisor on duty. She recalled speaking to the three individuals. But of the three calls that were made to 911, only two connected successfully.
