There are still a number of CNMI residents who have yet to receive their stimulus checks, according to an official from the government’s Department of Finance.
Secretary of Finance David Atalig went on air this morning during a press conference organized by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office to inform the community on the latest EIP payment updates in the CNMI.
“In terms of stimulus, we have dispersed over $49 million into our community from the stimulus tax program. We still have around $6 million more estimated to be dispersed for taxpayers that have some issues with their tax returns or they have to verify or confirm dependence … social security cards have to be verified,” he said.
Atalig said that the CNMI Rev and Tax had been releasing checks every Friday.
He is asking CNMI residents who have yet to receive their stimulus checks to contact the CNMI Rev and Tax or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Atalig received notice from the US Department of the Treasury in May that the CNMI’s Economic Impact Payment or “Stimulus Check” Implementation Plan has been approved by the IRS.
