Guam – Patricia Fae Ho, vice president of the national board of the American Association of University Women, encouraged women students enrolled at Guam Community College and the University of Guam to use their education to become financially self sufficient.
“It’s important for women to be self-sufficient,” said Ho, and to be leaders in the community.
Ho met with GCC students and faculty Friday afternoon in GCC’s Student Center.
Ho, who spent three days on Guam as the honored guest of the AAUW Guam Chapter, met with several dozen students, faculty, and administrators of Guam’s two higher education institutions to talk about women using their education to break through the barriers they face in the workplace and as Pacific islanders, and about scholarship and grant opportunities available through AAUW.
Members of the AAUW Guam Chapter also attended the session.
