Guam – B-52s from Minot Air Force Base carrying about 300 airman are flying to Guam this week from North Dakota.
Their arrival at Andersen Air Force Base is part of a routine deployment that keeps a continuous bomber presence at Andersen AFB. They’re replacing B-52s from the 2nd Bomber Wing out of Barksdale AFB in Louisiana which recently left Guam.
Minot media report that the 69th Bomber Squadron is taking off this week in frigid and snowy weather conditions for the long long flight to tropical Guam.
The movement of U.S. Air Force bombers into the Western Pacific has been ongoing since March 2004
