Acting Speaker Muna-Barnes Adj. General Paulino Welcome Philippine Military Officials

Guam – Acting Speaker Senator Tina Muña Barnes and Adjutant General Major General Benny M. Paulino met with visiting officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during a courtesy visit to the 31st Guam Legislature this morning.

 

The AFP contingent, which includes MGEN Joel C. Marayag AFP, J9, Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs; BGEN Danilo T. Fabian AFP, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs; COMMO Jesus C. Milan AFP, Commander, Naval Reserve Command;
COL Romeo M. Basco PA, Assistant Chief, AFPRMO; COL Alvin A. Parreno PN, Assistant Chief of NS for RRA, N9, PN; LtCol Leodigardio V. Macalintal PAF, Chief, PPRMD, OJ9; is on Guam for a 4-day visit and will also meet with other local and military officials as part of the State Partnership Program.

 

Senator Barnes discussed regional issues with the delegation, as well as the importance of continuing collaborative efforts like the Guam National Guard State Partnership Program and other opportunities for partnership.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Guam National Guard
State Partnership Program is one of over 50 Country Partnerships headed by the National Guard around the world. The Philippines Partnership was the First in the Pacific Region which started in the summer of 2000.

The Guam National Guard has worked jointly with the AFP to conduct over 60 Medical and Engineering Missions, Senior Officer Exchanges and various community based projects, both here on Guam and in the Philippines.

collaboration through the State Partnership Program. I look forward to supporting these efforts and to continue strengthening our close ties between our two countries.”
