Bill Would Grant Leave to GovGuam Employees Who Provide Sign & Foreign Language Interpretations

Guam – Senator Tony Ada and Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz have introduced a measure that would grant administrative leave for GovGuam employees who provide sign language or foreign language interpretation services for official government functions.

In a release, the 2 Senators point out that many of the people qualified to provide such services are employed by the government of Guam and Bill 58-31 would enable those employees to provide important translation services and thereby make GovGuam activities more accessible to as many of our residents as possible.

Their release also argues that a segment of our population is under served in this area.
