The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the civilian side of the fence has now risen to 77 after an additional 8 new cases were reported by Guam Public Health yesterday.
In remarks posted on her Facebook page Thursday morning, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero expressed concern about the growing number of cases.
“Total to date is 77 confirmed cases of confirmed positive, 3 deaths very unfortunate for our island, and 9 recoveries. We again are not recovering as fast as we are getting confirmed cases. And in order for us to do that, we need to again continue with the measures that we have been asking you and directing you to do — and that is stay home, wash your hands, don’t spread the virus and practice social distancing.”
During her daily online news conference Thursday afternoon, the governor said times are tough and we have harder days ahead of us.
She said she has submitted a request with the Department of Defense for critical supplies for masks, gowns, eye gear, and ventilators.
She expressed confidence that the Department of Defense would work hard to fulfill her request.
